Social Media Today: How Automation Optimizes Your Social Media Marketing Effort

"Being social also means that you are exposed to potential damage. A marketer needs to stay abreast of any social media activity that poses social risks to a business, its brand value, or employee recognition. And employees create by far the biggest risk in that regard. A business needs to ensure compliance with government rules and regulations, as well as to protect its data and reputation.

Tools like SecureMySocial give employees real-time warnings if they are violating a company’s policies by leaking data, saying inappropriate things, breaking laws, or doing other things wrong. It scans posts by employees made from anywhere for internal keywords like product names, employee names, IP terms, and any foul language, and, if it finds a problem, either immediately lets an employee know, or, if the employee allows it to, automatically removes the post without requiring anyone to have to think about what might go wrong. It also scans posts to protect employees from harming themselves: their careers, their relationships, their finances, and even their physical safety. The best part is that you can customize security rules based on the nature of your business and employees will get automatic alerts in real time – so you can protect your business and your employees from harm without having to monitor them."

Social Media Explorer: How to Plan a Rockstar B2B Social Media Marketing Plan

"For more robust protection, and to prevent employee posts from causing problems whether they are positive or negative, tools like SecureMySocial are best to use. SecureMySocial will not only monitor and address posts that employees make related to your brand, but it will also notify employees in real time if they are making other kinds of posts that may be problematic: such as giving away sensitive information, saying things that could help competitors, making posts that break laws, or even giving hackers information they need to hack you. Alerts will be delivered privately to the employees and let them know that the content they have posted may be potentially harmful and ask them to remove it, or, if you authorize SecureMySocial to do so, it can even automatically remove such posts immediately. For larger businesses, SecureMySocial is a must."

Entrepreneur Names SecureMySocial One of the "The Top Social Media Tools for Working Smarter, Not Harder"

SecureMySocial

Every business should have a social-media policy. Social-media policies are designed to keep companies and employees safe from legal and regulatory actions, employment termination, and reputation-management issues. We hear about employees being let go all the time over things posted to social media that violate a company’s policy.
SecureMySocial, a new offering created by cybersecurity veteran, Joseph Steinberg, alerts people in real time if they make social-media posts that may break the law, violate internal-policy guidelines, deface their employer’s brand, or might otherwise harm either the person making the post or their employer. Within seconds of a problematic post being made from anywhere, SecureMySocial can notify the poster with information as to why the post may be problematic and instructions on how to remove the post, or it can even automatically and instantly delete the post if so authorized. This is a potential lifesaver.

SecureMySocial Unveils Automatic Deletion Technology for Problematic Social Media Posts
Offers Unparalleled Protection for Businesses and their Employees

SecureMySocial announced today the availability of its new auto-deletion technology for problematic social media posts. Now available for Twitter, the service allows people and businesses to configure SecureMySocial to automatically, in real time, delete Tweets as they are made, if the posts are deemed likely to violate laws, harm the poster’s career or personal relationships, put the poster or his/her children in physical danger, bully others, leak confidential data, or inflict harm in other ways.

Reports of inappropriate social media posts causing all sorts of professional and personal problems appear in the media nearly every day. Bad posts by employees – and disciplinary actions taken as a result – have caused businesses to be sued, investigated, and fined, and have cost fortunes as leaked data has undermined investment in marketing campaigns and research projects.

“With SecureMySocial’s patent-pending Auto-Deletion technology, businesses can protect themselves and their employees from risks that were previously not addressable. People using personal social media accounts during non-work hours could inadvertently harm their employers or themselves. With SecureMySocial that risk is dramatically reduced,” noted Joseph Steinberg, CEO of SecureMySocial.

Inc.: How Your Business Can Stay Cyber-Secure Without Spending a Fortune

How Your Business Can Stay Cyber-Secure Without Spending a Fortune

"Inappropriate social media posts can cause many problems – such as leaking sensitive information, violating compliance rules, and assisting criminals to carry out attacks. Implement technology to ensure social media does not become a nightmare (of course, I recommend SecureMySocial); do not rely on simply telling people not to make particular types of posts on Facebook or Twitter – history tells us that many people simply do not realize when they are making such posts, and even those who do, may inadvertently leak data when posting from a smartphone that auto-corrects a misspelled word to a sensitive, internal term."

Entrepreneur: 4 Essentials to Secure Your Business Even From State-Sponsored Online Threats

This article discusses various threats to businesses and includes the following quote from Joseph Steinberg, CEO of SecureMySocial:

“People forget that employees can leak data from home or mobile devices. This has become a dramatically larger problem since the dawn of social media and the entrance into the workforce of a generation of people who grew up oversharing on social media. Technology implemented at the perimeter of an organization does not do anything to prevent these types of leaks, so standard data leak prevention (DLP) solutions are often insufficient.”

Forbes: Are You Spending Your Information-Security Budget On The Wrong Technology?

“Which firewall should I use?” is a question that I am frequently asked when I meet businesspeople at conferences and networking events.
While it may sound innocuous, this inquiry is, in fact, indicative of a disturbing trend found among both businesspeople and consumers vis-à-vis the security of their valuable and private information: investing too much attention and money (from limited budgets) in areas in which they already benefit from relatively solid security, and, therefore, have disproportionately low returns on improvements, while all but ignoring various gaping holes.
Read the full article here for four areas that often are given insufficient consideration, but which you should be thinking about – and investing in – before it is too late.

ISIS Blacks Out French Television Station Broadcasts -- CyberTerrorism Has Arrived

On Wednesday night, parties claiming to belong to the Islamic State (ISIS) blacked out broadcasts on 11 channels of French television station, TV5Monde, as well as breached and defaced the network’s social media accounts.

The massive hack-attack – which took the station off the air for hours and disrupted normal operations for nearly a day – was certainly not the first assault directed by Islamic extremists at media outlets, but, the technological sophistication of this week’s broad takedown of a network does seem to represent a significant escalation of capabilities; if this action was truly carried out by ISIS, it is evidence that the group may have far more advanced cyberwar capabilities than was conventionally believed to be the case.
